West House Country Hotel Wedding Photography Llantwit Major

This wedding at the West House Country Hotel had an international feel to it, as Lizzy & Richie live in Australia!  Richie was ‘coming home’ to get married, bringing Lizzy, Dee, the Maid of Honour and some close friends and family with him!  Including their florist Matthew Landers, who provided the most amazing displays and Lizzy’s bouquet.  We met them all at St James’s Church in Wick, where Lizzy was waiting in the Rolls Royce from Illtud Wedding Cars with Barrie, Richie’s dad who gave her away as Lizzy’s parents were unable to make the trip.  Lizzy had done her own make up, beautifully, her hair had been put up by Jackie at The Hair Studio, so the wedding had a very local feel too it which is exactly what they wanted to create.  Ruth Elin a harpist, also played beautifully in the church.  After the lovely ceremony we took some photographs outside the church, including a family one for Richie at his Grandma’s grave and then we all headed back to Llantwit to The West House Country Hotel.  Lizzy and Richie looked fabulous in their custom made Dress ordered from Light in the Box and Suit tailored from Roger David in Perth, Australia.  Richie’s grey boots were made from python skin and are his pride & joy – it’s not often the Groom is more particular than the Bride regarding footwear!!  We were able to photograph outside the front and the back of the Hotel, before the guests joined them for their Wedding Breakfast, which they unsually and much to their guests surprise started by performing their First Dance as they did not have a party in the evening!  The tables were beautifully decorated with flowers and exquisite stationary made by Louise Kelly Designs.  Once the day proceedings had ended we took Lizzy & Richie to Llantwit beach for some amazing Bridal photographs at sunset, much to their delight we had amazing light and dramatic clouds, just perfect!
